I was originally going to filter this post for just the potential Crescent Sorcerers in our upcoming game, but I thought it'd be more fun with a broader audience. ( Non-gamers feel free to pass on by... )

I was, as you might imagine, a huge X-Files fan back in the day (geeky teenager/college student without much of a social life, plus a seriously geeky/creepy Friday night show? Sign me up!) I still am, though it's tempered to the point where I haven't seen the second film yet. I think I missed a half-dozen episodes overall, mostly in the last two forgettable seasons.

Favorite episode? Nearly impossible to narrow it down that much, but "Ice" from the first season was a big favorite even in repeat viewings, and "One Breath" from Season Two. ( Oh, hell, let's just do 9 of them )

Favorite of all of those? Probably "The Sixth Extinction"...

For some reason, Dragon*Con planning this year has been a near wash. I'm not anticipating completing my "big crazy" costume (Sammael) again this year, which is a shame because it really wants me to have short hair.

Aside from the usual costumes-you-can-pull-out-of-my-closet-ready-to-wear (Asha'man, pirate, kilt, etc), what might I put together for this year? Ideas you'd like to see me go as? No reasonable offers will be ridiculed.

The only 'new' one I've come up with so far is John Constantine. Investment is pretty minimal (he's also supposed to have short hair, but I'm not going for a costume contest with that one); a pack of Silk Cut cigarettes and maybe a plain black tie. He's got tattoos in the film, but I think those don't exist in the comic. I even have a blue pin stripe suit, but I'll be buggered go to hell before I wear THAT shit in Atlanta in August. Oh wait, same thing. ::edit:: Shite, forgot the part that 'makes' the costume: We have this pair of angel wings lying around in our costume closet, see? So if one was, hypothetically, to daub the back end of them in faux ichor and sling them over the shoulder like a trophy... instant Constantine-on-a-bad-day!

Part of my (lack of) musical aptitude is that I sometimes mistake one musical group for another. Usually it's transient and easily corrected, but for years I've had difficulty figuring out the difference between two bands' songs on the radio: Styx and Rush. I don't know why; they're probably not all that similar overall (aside from having been around for approximately the same length of time). I recently started to decipher the mystery, mostly by noticing that I tend to prefer Styx, and don't "get" Rush, most of the time.
