A couple of people have made mention of their "morning routines" here on LJ and elsewhere, and I thought it'd be fun to see how different people's "startup sequence" is. I was going to make it a poll, but after experience with leaving options off of a poll for teh City recently, I'll make it open-ended instead.

By way of example, some of the systems that come online in the morning, in no particular order, are: Sex Drive, Hunger, Curiosity, Obligation/Duty, Pain, Parental, Excretory, Vision, Balance, and Internal Music Player. I'll add more as people mention them. :)

These are pretty much in order from the time I decide to actually *get out* of bed:

Bladder
Situational Awareness
Pain
Vision
Hearing
Smell
Balance
Fine Motor Skills (Makeup application)
Lower GI
Upper GI (Breakfast)
Taste
Cognative Awareness (May occur after a few hours or a cup of coffee)

Parental (nursing)
bladder
smell (usually fowl breath :))
vision (put contacts in)
motor skills (make up)
gross motor skills (dressing)
Parental (dressing and getting little ones ready)
Mental (with coffee)
Hunger

Gross Motor (slapping alarm clock until it turns switches off before it goes off, stumbling to bathroom)
Urination
Dr. Pepper Retrieval System
Cold Sensors
Mental Acuity
Hunger
Fine Motor (bra fastening, sometimes actually involves make-up)
Verbal Ability (always the last system to become operational)

WakeChildren(normal)
MakeCereal(self)
WakeChildren(aggrevated)
MakeCereal(children)
If Diva NotOnBus
Yell(diva)
Endif
Shower
If Boys NotReady
Yell(boys)
Endif
Dress(self)
MakeCereal(fish)
Drive(boys2school)
If WorkedLate = True or HornyWife = True
Drive(home)
else Drive(work)

Peeing and eating is done somewere in there. Makecereal is somewhat not intuitive as it also includes eating and in the Fish subroutine it is Algea flakes instead of Frosted flakes, but the idea is the same.

Wait, how does you being the favorite make your sister not crazy? These are not mutually exclusive conditions, as far as I can tell.

Wll, she wasn't crazy in THAT aspect.

She always seemed somewhat normal, since pot, booze, and boredom sex are normal NJ activities. However she had this odd paranoia that I was the preferred child, that dad did the computer stuff with me and not with her. Perhaps I really WAS dad's favorite. 8-)

4:42am -Hearing starts to boot - this is when my 1st alarm starts going off
4:42am - 5:18am -lower brain function and gross motor skills start to boot (able to hit the snooze button on the alarm clock)
5:18am - hearing comes fully on line (2nd alarm starts going off). Gross motor skills and Lower brain function at 75% - can hit snooze buttons on alarm clocks, but since they are on different cycles, I will often hit the wrong one.
5:30am - 5:35am - lower brain function at 100%. Gross motor skills at 75%, enough to stumble down out of bed, put on glasses so I can see, pet kitties, remove night clothes, stumble into bathroom, grabbing clean undies and towels on the way.
5:35am - 6:15am/6:30am - Gross motor skills at 100%. Fine motor skills booting, nearing 50%. Brush hair out, get into shower. Pee, shower. Dry off, final grooming of hair. Head into bedroom to dress and apply makeup.
6:15am/6:30am - 6:45am/6:55am - Fine motor skills at 100%. Apply makeup, get dressed, fix breakfast and lunch, out the door. Hunger/GI starts to come online.
6:45am/6:55am - 7:30am/7:45am - Hunger/GI fully on line. Drive to work - drink morning drink of Diet Coke/milk on the way.
7:30am/7:45am - prepare breakfast at work (peel hardboiled eggs), begin workday. Upper brain function just starting to come online, running at about 10%. Energy levels running at about 25%. Sex drive just starting to come online.
11:00am - 11:30am - Break for lunch. Upper brain fuction and energy levels have climbed to 80%. Sex drive is at 50%
12:00pm - 1pm - Upper brain function completes booting, is at 100%. Energy levels and sex drive also at 100%.

Please note that Upper brain function, energy levels and sex drive do not begin shutdown procedures until nearly midnight.

Something like this:

Not Sure about Order Of All Of Them, But I Have Noticed My Vision Is Blurred For About Twenty Minutes After I Wake Up, Up To An hour.

I Don't Have To Visit The Bathroom For At Least Two Hours, But If I Do, It Seems Like I Did Need It.

I Used To Always Wake Up With The Immidate Fear That I Was Late, But Since I Stopped Having Any Appointments Right After I Wake Up (I Sleep After Work, Instead Of Right Before) That Seems To Have gone Away, And Now I Just Want To Know What time It Is,NOW.

Sex Drive Kicks In After About Two Minutes Of Laying In Bed.

Three Hours After I Wake Up, I'm Hungry For Whatever The Main Meal Of The Day Will Be, And I'm Not Hungry Before That. This Is Completely Independant Of What Time That Is In The Day.

First Thing I Tend To Do Once I'm Out Of Bed Is to Go Check My Email. Sometimes, If I'm Lazy That Day, And Since My WonderPhone's Right Next To the Bed, I'll Check Before Actually Getting Out Of Bed.

giving this one a shot

For the work week:
vision/hearing/emotional response/obligation (groaning at light alarm)
pain
thirst
bladder
gross motor (stumbling around house)
curiousity (check email and LJ)
mom skills (poke teenager to actually get up with alarm)
refinement of gross motor (exercises)
gross and fine motor (shower, makeup, hair) - it takes a while to get gross motor fully coordinated these days
hunger/curiosity (eat breakfast, read newspaper)
more mom skills (nag children as necessary)
medication
caffeination
domesticity (make lunches, do chores)
employment

for a weekend with less on the schedule (yes, it happens)
take out emotional response and obligation in the first part and remove employment at the end
