Oct. 3rd, 2005 09:29 am- What is the single most important thing you look for in a significant other?
Probably the most important thing is that we be compatible without being identical; maybe that's cheating two things into one, but the distinction is important (to me, obviously). I want somebody who can keep up with me, mentally/emotionally/digressively/sexually, but not be so similar that we are either a) bored, or b) plagued with what I call "dangerous resonances"; things that are similar AND dysfunctional enough to become a problem in the long term. - If you could go back and change any one thing in your life thus far, what would it be, and why?
I'd change my earlier predilection for lying as a teenager. Everybody, or almost everybody, gets caught up in the "make yourself look cooler than you are", but I took it to a decidedly unhealthy extreme. If I could change that, I think several things about my life would be simpler today, including possibly my bruised psyche. - You. Puppy Ears (me). Deserted island. No food. How long before I'd become kibble?
Who says you'd become kibble? We should take an inventory of our skills and figure out how to either a) get off this godsforsaken island, or b) find something we'll start to consider food after 2-3 days. If both of those are impossible, then maybe we'd better start learning how to kill each other kindly. I have no intention of starving to death painfully on a desert island. On the other hand, maybe I'll be the one who is kibble. - Choose a loved one. What single perception of theirs do you wish you could change, if any?
I wish my stepfather could understand that the world is NOT, in fact, out to get him. Thinking Well of Others has never been his strong suit, to say the least. - A restriction-free night on the town in Vegas. (is there really any other kind?) What would be on your agenda?
I've never been to Vegas, so it's hard to say. I doubt "unlimited funds" is included in restriction-free, so a little bit of gambling would be okay. I hear they've got some amazingtourist trapssights to see and shows to watch, so I'd probably go with those. Also, I imagine getting
featherynscale to explain the route/mechanisms of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas would be a good way to spend the time...
