Forgot to mention, the other night I had a dream in which I was playing some sort of Transformers® video game, or I was in the game (it was a little hard to tell). Basically, I started out as a lone Autobot® at a deserted/destroyed desert military base on Earth, where I had to collect gear (weapons, repair kits, etc) and figure out the next step of my mission. I obviously didn't have the walk-through though, because I hadn't managed to find any weaponry by the time I came across the damaged Decepticon®, dying in the dirt. It told me some of what the storyline was (which was unsurprisingly similar to the film), and because I was ill-armed and because I was one of the Good Guys, I didn't finish him off, but left to go find more gear.

This, of course, turned out to be a mistake, when the Decepticon® stopped shamming and started chasing/shooting at me. He was large and purple, angular and could fly, which makes me think Shockwave® perhaps? Speech was clear, though, unlike say Soundwave®... Anyway. I'm not at all sure who I was, except that I was definitely not Bumblebee (original or 2007 version), but perhaps some sort of motorcycle-bot. This became important later, because most of the rest of the dream involved me Running The Hell Away™ in vehicle mode; across the desert, onto a freeway, down some streets, and eventually into some sort of huge exhibition hall, which might have been an actual Science Fiction Convention. That would explain the (relative) lack of drama when we started shooting up the place, although since it was a video game and I was one of the Good Guys™, if I shot a civilian, it hurt me/lost me points.

I eventually woke up before any concrete resolution...

Last night's dream sequence involved
  1. a plot to take mafiascum.net offline which resulted in a bunch of the players getting together and stringing tiny little paperclips together into intricate chains of red, green, and brown (I don't know why, the colors were important). That part was bad and weird (especially since I've never met any of those folks in person).
  2. all of this took place in a giant General Store that had low gravity/wind currents, so you could pogo off the springy carpet in some areas and glide over to another, landing softly. Speed seemed to be affected in the vertical, not the horizontal. That part was cool.
  3. the narrative climax seemed to involve some sort of impromptu three-way pillowfight between myself, my stepfather, and possibly one of my now-adult half-sisters. Except instead of pillows in the bags, it was books and whatever other hard, compact stuff you could fit. Still, physics remained broken and the fight didn't hurt us like you'd expect. We were mostly laughing, so I guess that part was good?

This morning's dream was a real doozy; something about Unitarian Universalists in boxing matches (the UU in question was tall and skinny, a bit like Jonathan Crane or a bodak, but friendlier) against Mike Tyson lookalikes. Against the odds, the UU seemed to be winning, which led me to concern that the fight had been rigged (I wasn't entirely clear on what my role in the whole affair was).

But then most of that became sidelined by Captain Jack Sparrow, who seemed to be strapped to a long spine board, only it wasn't quite long enough so he ran and jumped out of a window, rolled out of it (sort of), and went to harass some guy shilling cheap plastic crap on the other side of the street. I got the impression he wasn't actually hurt, but maybe just strapped to the thing to try to keep him out of trouble (vainly, obviously). Somehow the back board had "extensions" that came out of the top when he loomed over the guy on the street, giving him the appearance of a plywood cobra.

At about which point [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants woke up with her own nightmare, and I lost the thread... such as it was.

Odd little dream snippets last night: First one involved me and (a single male companion who I knew at the time but have now forgotten) taking bolt-action rifles on a sniper expedition. I couldn't tell precisely who our targets were, but there was a lot of outdoor woodcraft involved, along with some nifty goggles that could penetrate the trees and brush, leaving them clearly outlined against the snow. With that advantage, we were able to defeat the enemy easily, and didn't even have to kill most of them, taking several captive.

Second part (which may have been the same dream) consisted mainly of me driving my work van around in a vain attempt to find a (the?) library for the passengers on board. This involved going through much of the eastern wilds of Jackson County, for some reason, and dodging stupid drivers/pedestrians, including three teenagers who were smoking while walking down the white line (I could see the cherry quite clearly at dusk), and got out of our way by walking into the other, oncoming lane of traffic. No idea what happened to them, because shortly after that point the cat jumped on me to see if I was awake yet...
