From the Kansas City Star's Lisa Gutierrez, here's a game for the election coverage tonight. Follow the instructions every time you hear these phrases:
  • “Too close to call”: Run outside and remove one yard sign. From your own yard.
  • “Spin”: Stomp on the floor twice.
  • “Florida”: Change the channel.
  • “Swing state”: Do the wave.
  • “Swift boat”: Scream like Howard Dean.
  • “Trial lawyers”: Take a sip of the beverage of your choice.
  • “Dick”: Scowl like Dick Cheney.
  • “Exit polls”: Clap three times in unison.
  • “Teresa” (and it must be pronounced correctly): Fluff your hair.
  • “White House”: Do a quick do-si-do with a supporter of the other party. Remember, we're all in this together.
Well, the last one might be a little difficult in our house...

Perhaps you need to go to the election night party at SMUUCh then? Though I have a strong suspicion that most UU's tend to skew to the liberal side also.

Actually, I think our entire household is seceding from the Union for the evening...too much social butterflyism for one weekend week month.

But SMUUCH probably has some of the most conservative liberals they can find in the UUA. ;)

I'm right there with ya. The one thing that working KCRF does for me that's bad is lower my socializing threshold. I had a perfectly wonderful time being a hermit and puttering around my house last weekend. I certainly wasn't fit company for much of anyone.
My plans for tonight consist of getting groceries and working alone on some stuff that has been languishing for a while. (and occasionally yelling at the TV)

*LOL* I love this...*nods*

*crossposts to his own journal* This should be fun tonight...

All of these exit polls regarding who will end up in the White House. And if Florida screws this up again this year, they might end up maimed. But if it's too close to call like it was last time, I say we ask Queen Elizabeth to take over. *nodsnods*

*reviews that paragraph* *does a do-si-do with the yard sign he stole while clapping in unison to changing the channel*

"Trial lawyers" seems to be the key for drinking in this game; you could probably have two drinks on hand, one for red, one for blue lawyers...
