So last night I apparently got enough sleep to have a full-fledged dream (usually I get interrupted enough that I don't remember them).

Started with a bunch of us (myself and my other thirds, [livejournal.com profile] niveus_tigris, [livejournal.com profile] breathofgold, [livejournal.com profile] teross50, [livejournal.com profile] chaosdruid, [livejournal.com profile] druidevo, etc) at a conference or dinner party...something downtown and fairly snazzy. Unfortunately there was a Terminator (the Terminator? It was definitely Ahnold in black leather) sent to find us, so we had to leave a little early. We crossed the street to our hotel and managed to split up, since it was unclear precisely who its target was at that point. Confused it into getting on the elevator without us, then regrouped and headed up to our hotel room (paid for and possibly occupied by R. Martinez, naturally - I think he was even working) and retrieved a very convenient bevy of handguns. Thoughtfully, we had trigger-locked them all together in a single case, so everyone got to choose the gun of size/shape/caliber they preferred. It looked like a toolbox with a dowel running through it, but it *was* convenient. At that point there were some quick lessons on Terminator termination, and we decided it might be a good idea to get out of the box cañyon one-door hotel room before it found us. That is about the point where I woke up, but I gave us about 70% odds of success at that point, despite the varying levels of marksmanship and/or abject terror.

The analysis of where this comes from is actually fairly straightforward, I think:
  • I've had Terminator sitting unfinished in the VCR downstairs for about 4 days now;
  • My boss is going to Sacramento next week, and I joked that she might get to meet the Governator;
  • The What gun are you? meme I posted last week;
  • Flocking behavior; seriously, it works!
  • Everyone else's sequences of weird dreams lately seemed like so much fun...
  • R. Martinez DOES have good taste, but he works too much. Really.

Hey now!

When you provide your own analysis, you take all the fun out of it! :-P

I think he means which gun he chose in my dream...unfortunately, I am not enough of a firearms afficionado to tell him definitively which one he got...I know it was mainly based on two things: Grip size vs. hand size (per our discussion with [livejournal.com profile] cernunos the other day), and caliber vs. recoil. F'rinstance, [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants picked something like a .22 with Magnum-sized grips, whereas [livejournal.com profile] chaosdruid picked something like this.

Guns

I know that's what he meant.

And seriously, scoping gun shops at work? Well done, crime prevention :-P

Seems like an awfully big caliber for someone as small as me... Not that I like guns anyway.

Well, it was more the sense of bang-for-the-buck... (small, yet dangerous)there weren't any throwing knives in the rack in my dream, sorry. :)

If I ever get ahold of one, I'll let you try it out, kay?

You know me - I'm a compulsive clicker. Besides, you see it when you hit the comment button anyway.

So is your resolve so weak that you cannot scroll down before you read? The comment entry screen is pretty conveniently sized (although it would be nice if it jumped to that part of the page, like cutid does.... hmmm, that gives me an idea).

No, no. I simply process information so fast that if I've seen it in print, I've read it.

I'm not going to get into a discussion with you about my strength of will, since you've broken me once (which is one more time than most people can claim).

I'm not worthy...

I bow down before your speed-reading skills then, m'dear...

I did find a suggestion for making Comments jump directly to the... well, comments, but it's never gone anywhere. I added my comment anyway.
