Oooh, ooh, my turn!
Oct. 5th, 2004 07:31 amSo last night I apparently got enough sleep to have a full-fledged dream (usually I get interrupted enough that I don't remember them).
Started with a bunch of us (myself and my other thirds,
niveus_tigris,
breathofgold,
teross50,
chaosdruid,
druidevo, etc) at a conference or dinner party...something downtown and fairly snazzy. Unfortunately there was a Terminator (the Terminator? It was definitely Ahnold in black leather) sent to find us, so we had to leave a little early. We crossed the street to our hotel and managed to split up, since it was unclear precisely who its target was at that point. Confused it into getting on the elevator without us, then regrouped and headed up to our hotel room (paid for and possibly occupied by R. Martinez, naturally - I think he was even working) and retrieved a very convenient bevy of handguns. Thoughtfully, we had trigger-locked them all together in a single case, so everyone got to choose the gun of size/shape/caliber they preferred. It looked like a toolbox with a dowel running through it, but it *was* convenient. At that point there were some quick lessons on Terminator termination, and we decided it might be a good idea to get out of the box cañyon one-door hotel room before it found us. That is about the point where I woke up, but I gave us about 70% odds of success at that point, despite the varying levels of marksmanship and/or abject terror.
The analysis of where this comes from is actually fairly straightforward, I think:

The analysis of where this comes from is actually fairly straightforward, I think:
- I've had Terminator sitting unfinished in the VCR downstairs for about 4 days now;
- My boss is going to Sacramento next week, and I joked that she might get to meet the Governator;
- The What gun are you? meme I posted last week;
- Flocking behavior; seriously, it works!
- Everyone else's sequences of weird dreams lately seemed like so much fun...
- R. Martinez DOES have good taste, but he works too much. Really.
