New theory in the blender

Not sure why this came to mind the other day, but I was people-watching downtown and saw a woman about to cross the street; she looked reasonably attractive, but I was totally non-plussed. This sort of surprised me, considering my usual 'type' doesn't exclude her as far as i can tell.

Type? Yeah, right. It's not based on body shape...past experience and present company can tell you that much. It's not based on height, per se... although being of a height that I can easily kiss you helps, sure. But that's more mechanics. It's not haircolor, or skincolor, or size/shape of backside or frontside...

I have a theory. But I need more data before i announce it. So if you happen to see me examining you a little more closely when I see you next, I'm not going myopic again; I may just be conducting scientific research.

Yeah, that's it; it's for science!

P.S. And no, it's not that I'm just not physically-oriented, and make all of my decisions based on personality and intellect, like the more enlightened do. I do make snap decisions (which can and do get heavily revised later based on internal characteristics), it's just not based on the above.

Sure. As it happened, I was engaged in a fit of logic somewhere else just before reading your comment, and I felt it unreasonable to declare that I would never argue against a thing when I could imagine a situation in which I would argue against it, however unlikely the situation might be to actually arise.

The fit has passed now, though, and I'm just as likely to passionately declare any goddamned stupid thing as I generally am. Especially if I can pound my glass on the table in accompaniment.

Have you seen Robin Williams latest stand up - he talks about "loving spring in NYC" because all the ladies take "the girls out for walk...all those breasts...free and unencumbered..."
First - it's absolutely true... you know spring has arived in NYC by the amount of bra-less women in wife beaters and white t-shirts...

That said... I remember a spring some time ago...that a "Traffic stopping" woman - literally
stopped traffic - Red dress...no bra..."fxxk me pumps" That "just stepped out of a salon" hair (brunette) ... I was standing on the corner of 52nd street and Park Ave. ALL the traffic stopped - and darn near all the pedestrian traffic - Male and Female stopped and watched her cross the street....

so...I heartily agree with Mr. Kipling

Can't remember who I heard this from, but I think everyone does it. At first glance, some primal evolutionary assessment takes place, and there is an instant Yes/No that gets filed away. "Would I fuck this person?" Instant categorization. The files can then be revised and even shuffled, but I think that first assessment comes from the lizard-brain, the part that constantly thinks about eating, mating, and killing things before they kill you.

That's terribly funny. My mind actually got rolling on the idea because Johnny Dare was arguing on 98.9's Morning Show, that everyone does this Yes/No categorization, even women. The cohost/guest wasn't having it... but it came down to a terminology difference.

That, and she had more 'no's than he did. ;)

I don't know about everyone else, but I do. Unfortunately most of the things that trigger a "yes" response aren't terribly common in this day and age, so I fully intend to watch Troy as many times as I possibly can.

May 14th. With any luck I'll be in VA that weekend (hoping to see my sister class graduate and spend a couple of days with moss_raven) so I'll probably see it there. But I also plan to see it again when I get back.

And the hell with skirts, I'm drooling over the armor... and all that dirt...

Well, I haven't bought the tickets yet. But it's going to be a tough decision; sister class graduation, seeing Amy & little Helen, and spending time with Best-Friend-I-Almost-Never-See vs. EiR. Bastardy.

I think it's being worked on. Unfortunately, we had a tough time coming up with a time that would work for everyone. This was the closest we could come without having to go after Memorial Day.

Oh man, La Greca (second progeny) is sooo bummed it's rated R. It's the Orlando Bloom fixation. Not that her taste is all that bad, when it comes right down to it. :-)
