I present the following without comment: Zombie Food Pyramid.
The scene: Downtown KCMO
The time: Lunchtime on a Monday
The sight: A large African-American man staring down the street in front of him, marching without pause or deviation.
The sound: His rasping voice uttering 'Voodoo... voodoo...' over and over again.
The explanation we're telling ourselves: Godsmack on his iPod. No, really.

Five scientifically plausible ways a zombie apocalypse could actually happen... you know, in case you needed help getting in the mood for Hallowe'en.
Thanks D - and many happy returns of the day to your lovely lady,
rougewench (I used to mistype that as roguewench, today it's "roughwench"...hmmm)

Jun. 13th, 2007 11:02 pmZombies. Zombies? Rioters? I don't know, but there's some crazy shit going on outside. I thought
ysabel was dicking around earlier, but there's a bunch of fucked-up people outside, and they're Not From Around Here, yano?
The dog went nuts about half an hour ago. STILL nothing on the media (blackout? I dunno), but at least they're not smart enough to go after the power lines. So far keeping the house dark seems to be working to our advantage, but... on the other hand, we've got all that lawn fertilizer and petroleum products in the garage that
kittenpants's dad left here a couple weeks ago. Fuel bomb? Jesus... but it's not like you can kill a zombie with a ^(*$#% broadhead, even if any of us were a decent shot, in the dark. No guns in this house, nosiree...
back later.

Another major wreck/tie-up at Holmes & I-435 tonight; they had the offramps going south blocked off in both directions, and routing everybody through Wornall. As if that section of the 435 loop didn't have enough problems, headed into the Grandview Triangle...
Might not have been a wreck, though. Something stinks out there, like a gas leak/chemical spill. Glad my meeting tonight is at our place.

Just another day in paradise...
Jun. 13th, 2007 02:59 pmTwo bits of non-news: The Royals won last night (okay, that is kind of a surprise, actually) which meant lunch at Planet Sub was half-off. And Kansas City has another serial killer. Whee!
Nothing's hit the national news yet, but some guy in line was talking about the police finding a bunch of dead bodies down by where
breathofgold used to live. I guess that's what I call job security...

Jun. 13th, 2007 02:04 pmTraffic was completely stupid out there (had my usual Wednesday noon meeting). Don't go downtown or in the Old Northeast of KCMO if you can help it; like 5 or 6 accidents and every cop/fire/ambulance in the city, looks like. I just now got back into City Hall; my meeting ended at 1. Everybody must be driving like they've lost their brains...
Now I have to go out and find lunch, since the cafeteria's closed by now. Don't think I'll go to the library though, too hot out. Yes, I'm a wimp, 84° is warm for me...
