So an update on my vasectomy, previously known as The Surgery Happening Tomorrow"™. Apparently my doctor, who I had/have great faith and confidence in, has come down sick, and won't be able to do the procedure tomorrow. Good choice on his part; I don't want any sneezing, allergies, or muscle spasms while he's down there, really.

"How about next Thursday?" they ask. "Errrr, no, we're driving for 12 hours the following day." "Oh."

A bit more dickering with the schedule, and we settle upon a Friday date early in September. Which means, yes, that for my first wedding anniversary, I'll be going under (over?) the knife to get snipped.

The irony is fuckin' killing me.

Surgery + 12 hour drive + 3-4 days of A Crapload of Walking = Poor.

Besides, I think you're only supposed to wait to eat the cake on the anniversary. I think you can have sex before then. ;-P

I believe Druidevo and I both have sufficient training for a 'field expedient' procedure. Although of all the people who could be sterilized, you are not one of the ones I would choose.

Friday morning I'll be heading east after a brief (I hope) stop by the courthouse, unless you'll be in the area before early afternoon.

I'm off work from end of the day Wednesday 8/31 until start of business Thursday 9/8. I refuse to work on my birthday (9/7).

I'll be in knoxville for the weekend, not sure when I'll be heading back. That plan hasn't been worked out yet, due to osh's work schedule for that week not being released yet. Email me (redneck977 {at} mindspring {dot} com) & I'll provide digits to the batphone.

Friday we're either leaving here @ 7-8 am and driving like bats out of hell to get there by 7-8 pm, or leaving at like 3 am in order to get there by 5pm. Either way I suspect we're screwed for Friday, but we'll know more once the parade director calls us back. When you say heading east, does that mean you'll be in Knoxville by Friday afternoon?
