So tonight's party (for the celebration of the inestimable featherynscale's original birth) is entitled, "Get Bent", in honor of mucking around with gender roles. The original supposition was that guys would dress as girls, and vice versa. Obviously, in our crowd, there are numerous questions that come up with so simplistic a directive, so some people will just be "playing against type" from what they usually would wear.

Unfortunately, while the reigning thematic idea for me involves a Catholic schoolgirl outfit, I happen to think I make a hideous schoolgirl, especially with the goatee and all. I could shave, but that ups kittenpants ex-boyfriend reminisces to a somewhat unhealthy degree. So I'm still thinking about options, and you've got *hours* with which to help me. Party starts at 8, my time. We'll be going to dinner (at a restaurant which has already proven itself to be indefatigable through our antics), and then to Missy B's, a gay/fetish club (I'm not entirely clear on their clientele, but it mostly seems to involve gay men and/or leather).

I have no idea. Coming up with my own costume is daunting enough. Still, props to featherynscale for going through with the party idea. I'm having a marvelous time so far -- and the party doesn't even start for six more hours!

In jeans, with my hair down, I've given guys that exact reaction before. Amuses anyone I'm walking with (since I can't see them behind me). But jeans aren't exactly playing against type...
