As a Southerner, I feel it necessary to say that, in the immortal words of Bob Dylan, "It Ain't Me".
As much as we'd like to pretend about it, ignorance and Puritanism aren't regional issues. This whole damned country is full of the sentiment of "I don't want to do that, which means I can't let you do it either."
If this has taught us anything, it's that there are more asshats out there than we originally suspected.
I've commented in recent days that one of two things are likely to happen soon: There will be a mass exodus of people fleeing religious persecution by moving to Canada those willing to fight to keep America the 'Land of the Free' will be amassing weapons and supplies for the coming civil war with the Fundamentalist Conservative Coalition. Brings a new meaning to the psychological concept of 'fight or flight', hmmm?
