They apparently know why cranberry juice is good for UTIs: a sugar called D-mannose.
If true, this is some truly awe-inspiring stuff. Instead of killing your natural flora or breeding antibiotic-resistant bacteria, this sugar 'entices' E.coli out of your urinary tract and lets it be flushed out of your system, in just a day or two.
