The first half of this post is content-free. The second half explains the first half. Choose your own adventure... (both halves contain bugs, if that flips you out)

Take the above picture. You can recaption and repost it, a la LOLcats, or just post a caption in comments. If it helps, the building behind that sucker is a federal government building in downtown KCMO.

So the backstory: yesterday morning I rolled into work and found my coworker staring at the window. "Is that a bug?" We've had some roach problems in the kitchen, so I'm looking around the floor, the windowsill, etc. "No" she says, and points what looks like a chip of bark stuck to the window. I get closer and it still doesn't look like anything, until I step off to the right. At which point I realize that it's not a chunk of wood at all, but a 6" long praying mantis. I've never seen one in real life, so I snapped some pictures of him/her/it with the office's digital camera.

6 inches is huge for a praying mantis! What is even more surprising is how high up it is!

Yeah, I assume they fly, otherwise it was a long walk up (even though we're only on the 4th floor, it's about 7 floors for a normal building).

I have personally seen three praying mantis' in the last two weeks, and just about a month ago, there was one in our bathroom, just a teeny, tiny little thing, no more than an inch and a half long. I think they have some kind of plot going on...

How does Mantis Sense work? Are you overtaken with a sudden desire to pray fervently when evildoers are around?
