Regdar does not run from the Gazebo; it runs from him!

montecook recently posted the history of why 3E has two 'iconic fighters', and someone responded by Chuck Norris'ing the "white guy" who everybody seems to love to hate (personally, I wasn't even certain he was white):

Regdar is awesome.

Regdar is even more awesome.

Regdar will be awesome in 4E, too.

I think my favorite is "Back in second edition, a Thief party member tried to steal some of Regdar's gold. The result convinced every Thief to call themselves "Rogues" in third edition, just to distance themselves from that foolish act.".

Even seeing the picture, I have no memory of the existence of Regdar. And you'd think a dude who seemed to be simultaneously wielding a bastard sword and a longbow would catch my attention.

What's even weirder? Apparently there are 'iconic characters' that I don't even know exist...some chippy starting with a V? Varadina? Summat.

Also, what is 'chippy'? I assume it means female person from context, but where does it come from?

Dunno where I picked that one up...but yeah, I learned it as a term for a young, probably pretty (possibly chipper) female.

Also, Vadania. She's the 3e druid, the elfy-looking one with the antlers. Which makes it not all that surprising that I don't know her, because I've never played a druid in 3e.

However, we may want to take a look at the 4E cosmology sometime. They seem to have simplified/rationalized it in some ways that would gel well with Amnesia.
