It's been a low-water-mark week

No big accomplishments thus far. Saw Speed Racer over the weekend, which is every bit as much an acid trip as you might imagine. Worth seeing on the big screen; hell, worth seeing on the IMAX, for that matter. Check your brain at the door and have fun, damnit. Yes, the plot has holes you can drive a Weapons Van through - did the reviewers not see the original? This ain't The English Patient, kids.

Got to play pool with archway and gr8wolf earlier this week; against all odds and rustiness, managed to hold my own against gr8wolf. I need to locate my Frankencue; saffronhare, do you think it was still in your basement when your table went away?

Not many pool tables near our house, boo. New pool icon, yay!

Other than that, just trying to keep moving forward...Games Night tonight, yay. Work tomorrow all day, boo. Possibly more fun in the evening, yay?

There's pretty much NOTHING in the basement anymore. Please forgive me if I inadvertently sent it away with the pool table.

It's okay. It belonged to my suitemate in college, until he broke the back half of it into pieces doing Unauthorized Sports with it (read: Baseball). I glued and taped it back together, and was used to the weight and feel of it. It had a black case, but that may not tell you anything.

Anyway, this just gives me an excuse to buy a proper cue stick. Oh Noes. :)

Wait. I have done many sports-related things with a cue stick other than play pool (read: mini-golf, frisbee retrieval, fencing, distracting other people from same), but baseball?

Ayup.

Find large room.
Unscrew bottom half of cue.
Hold reversed, heavy end out.
Throw wadded up paper at holder.
Swing cue, lose grip.
Break cue against column of large room.

There were a few more steps, but you get the idea. :)

Ah, this makes me want to go shoot pool. Justin and I use to go frequently and it seems we haven't been in ages! Oh my, I've got to fix that. :) Thanks for the reminder. Pool is a hobby he and I both share, those are hard to find since we are so different.
