So my previous dentist continues to cause me pain and suffering... today was to be my first appointment with Davis Family Dental, a kind and friendly place. And lo, they are right down the street from my house, and had an 8:30 opening for this week. Glory and alleluia!
...except, when I get there, they take a look at my chart, and remind me that I'm supposed to take antibiotics prophylactically because I have a non-functional heart murmur. "Oh", sez I, "but my previous dentist told me they didn't do...that...anymore..." Nevermind. He had the chairside manner of a epileptic baboon, and spoke to me all of twice the entire time I was there. Why should I suspect he also knew what he was talking about?!? Just because he made me bleed more than any other dental cleaning I've ever had in my life...
So now I get to go back in next week, after getting a scrip/waiver from my GP. Of course, their X-ray machine was acting up this morning anyway, so maybe it's for the best...
So anyway, the short version is, stay the HELL away from Barry Schwartz, DDS.

Good people. When my crown popped off several years ago, they stayed late on a Friday to recement it for me, despite the fact that I wasn't even one of their patients at that time. I found them through my Mom that day because not only was my dentist out of town, so was the person 'covering' for him.
Yesterday she took the time to talk to me about what I thought was going on and then explained why they felt I still needed the root canal prior to starting. Then she took the extra time to pull the crown off, despite the fact that it would've been easier to drill through it. My appointment ran really long; no one said a thing.
I'm impressed with not only their "chairside manner" but also the fact that the people who work there obviously like working for her.
