So Gary Gygax died yesterday

And that's sad (even if it did give me the opportunity to do anagrams like Mr. White in Reservoir Dogs this morning - "Yagg Gyrax? Rax Gyyagg. Exyr Gaag? Reya Gax. Ragax Yegg? Tommy Wong. Fuckin' Charlie Chan...").

But what's not sad is that his birthday falls on a Sunday this year. Which means the weekend prior to that is ripe for a Marathon D&D session... but not just any session. featherynscale and I have been contemplating for several months a one-off marathon based on the shtick that is/was the 1980s TV series... regular encounters with Tiamat, bad DM accents, and patently ludicrous plotlines/magic items.

• Time: Probably starting the evening of Friday, July 25th, probably ending sometime before 3PM on Sunday, July 27th.
  
• Place: Probably E3HQ, though that means its unlikely to be a terribly child-friendly event...then again, the whole concept may not be. :P
  
• Edition: As mentioned below, could be anything from 1st to 3.5... will have to decide closer to the date.
  
• Organizers: featherynscale (Dungeon Master), triadruid (Uni/DM understudy)
  
• Possible participants (to be narrowed as needed, to get down to 6): orcjohn, archway, 8elements, auraseer, agrnmn ... RM?

Anybody interested? Familiarity with the system/cartoon would be a must, and we may have to audition down to six, unless we can get somebody to play Uni...

7th level. And yes, it's 3.5 and includes an adventure supplement and magic items guide for their stuff.

So you're planning to play 1st edition? (Presumably supplemented by Unearthed Arcana, since half the characters have UA classes.) I love it when my knowledge comes back into fashion!

*laugh* It's hard to say what edition we'll play, actually... most people's current knowledge is of 3.x, but on the other hand people who remember the cartoon probably recall 1st & 2nd well-enough...

At this point I can't make any firm statements about whether or not we'll be coming to Ann Arbor that weekend, but I think the actual answer to your question is likely "no problem, if it's fine on your end".
