Checked my brain onto the shelf and went to go see Jumper. It was pretty much everything you'd expect:
Anyway, worth the weekday/matinée price, certainly.
- The plot is terrible/non-existent.
- Samuel L. Jackson is embarrassingly bad.
- The Jumpers, on the other hand, are excellent, both in characterization and special effects. "Well, I was 15... what would YOU do?"
- Best. Superpowered. Fight scenes. Evar. They actually used their powers, rather than standing around and trading punches.
- The poor Ann Arbor Public Library, I'm sure, did nothing to warrant that sort of abuse. And yet...
- The entire 'subplot' with his mother was convoluted, unnecessary, and apparently unrelated to the original book (so saith Wikipedia). More's the pity, as Diane Lane could have been so much more.
Anyway, worth the weekday/matinée price, certainly.

But who cared, they were throwing buses!
