War Drobe, in the land of Spare Oom
Dec. 19th, 2005 07:37 amWe went to see Narnia last night after ritual; excellent, excellent film, the best incarnation of it I've seen yet. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I couldn't really note most of what they'd changed, and even some of what I thought they had changed, I was mistaken on (the Captain of the Secret Police had a different name in the American edition I read (and read, and read) as a child). A couple of characters were not as big and scary as I expected (Aslan possibly among them, but NOT Jadis), but overall very good. I can't wait to see Books 3 and 6 made into films... if they do. I suppose The Magician's Nephew isn't Book 6 anymore... is it?
( However it seems to have affected my dreams )
So yeah, think Narnia had anything much to do with it? Still, go see it. It's full of allegory, but I'm not entirely sure it's Christian allegory, if you know what I mean (nudge nudge, wink wink).
