In other news, I finally went to fencing practice on Wednesday; mind you, I've been *thinking* about doing this since I was a kid in San Antonio and the college-age crew boss on my newspaper-subscription route told me I should try it, as I was "built for it" (strong legs, light upper body). And you know, it's swords! But the fencing club at OU (different OU, chronarchy) had shut down for lack of interest before I got there, and didn't really start back up until after I left. Then it got set on the back burner until Five Rings fencing and the new Calontir Fencing interest group started up, so the other day I went with druidevo and featherynscale. Definitely interesting, and something I want to look at, whether or not it becomes a long-term hobby. It pretty much fit my expectations of what it would be, and as an added bonus, I learned a new way to scare animals and small children (to wit, advancing down the hall behind them in fencing posture, as opposed to my usual Muppet Attack™).

We'll see.
