Wow. 38 people in ritual today, and [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants and [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale weren't even there. Was one of the better Sharing Our Spirits (co-created) rituals I've been in recently, and pretty easy to lead.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] chronarchy? You'll be pleased; we were discussing the possibility of coming out to help with the 'additive mischief" experiment you have in mind, and seconds later what should come on the radio in the restaurant, but "Margaritaville".

And it was taken to be a sign.

Additive mischief?

Where? What is it? Can I get in on it?

Well, in [livejournal.com profile] chronarchy's journal the mischief can be found here; he's fun to add anyway, as a Discordian Druid you should appreciate him more than most. ;)

The Additive mischief we were contemplating here closer to home I *believe* is posted by me in the comments to that thread...

thanks for the info. I had actually added him back when we were discussing the druid study group thread.

I'm glad the ritual went well today. Wish I could have been there, but the little ones didn't wake up until 4:30 p.m. -- and since I'd so recently ripped somebody a new one for arriving at something late, I figured it would be poor karmic form to do it myself...

Nah, it'd just be entertainingly ironic for you to do that.

BTW, your eldest seems to be training up well -- unlike several of the other kids, she was not at all perplexed by an "adult" (me) climbing in the trees before ritual. She integrated it so well, in fact, that she decided that poking my foot with a wooden sword was a Good Idea. I got her back with no (lasting) damage done to either side, though, so no worries :-D

Dear gods, that's twice in one week that I've done this strange thing called 'playing with children.' I think I'm going to need a cootie shot...

I was trying to decide yesterday if the statement "Via's playing with the kids" was redundant or not ...

... no offense intended.

As Mike said, it's never to late to have a second childhood, but it's even better never to leave the first. I still can't figure out how their little minds work, though.

She brought the sword to ritual?

Hrm. Eldest daughter and her buddy had been choreographing swordfights in the front yard. They even crafted a "hobbit sword" for middle daughter out of some twigs and twine. Very fancy stuff.

She didn't mention you climing in the trees. It's odd what these pagan kids consider remarkable...

Yep, a sword and a dagger/hobbit sword

I saw no sword of twigs, but there was a pink "hobbit sword" that made my reach just about equal with hers. Which fact might even have made it a fair fight if I hadn't spent years stick fighting with my brother. Alas for her, not so.

I think it was Cory(?) who was most puzzled. "You're an adult!" "Well-spotted." "But you're in a tree!" "So I am." ::child's mind boggles, he climbs down from other tree and runs off::

The Tweener Trinity (your eldest, [livejournal.com profile] opaljax's eldest, and KD's girl-child) did mention a 'play' they had concocted and performed for KD, and I promised them they'd get a chance to show it to me at some point. Apparently KD's child has a death scene worthy of Bugs Bunny in it.

Actually a couple of people were late yesterday, and took varied reactions to it: [livejournal.com profile] jaiwitchy strutted in (literally, though I don't think it was intentional), high on life, while we were still doing check-in, and slipped in just fine. Gary however came about the time you would have arrived, and elected to spend the ritual in the hallway chatting with [someone I didn't recognize] until the social time after ritual; even when I invited him in during a break he said he didn't want to disturb ritual.

So I guess the lesson here is, if you're going to be late, do it with style. :)

You were missed, but you weren't the only one to skip.

"Pleased" doesn't begin to describe :)

It is all going according to plan. . .

The logistics are proving more difficult than I first thought, though. But, I do always have a backup plan. . .
