Picked up our engagement rings yesterday, which was surprisingly drama-free* and quick, despite the blistering heat. Pictures soon to follow, as soon as we can get [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants's hands paint-free long enough to take them (so - maybe October?). :D Montanari also mentioned that [livejournal.com profile] zerself and [livejournal.com profile] closer_to_fine came in on our referral, and were excited for them as well!

Got some housework done last night, which is sort of a change (I've been in-screw non-essential duties mode for waaaay too long, and having [livejournal.com profile] dramaticaddict as our maid hasn't assisted my resolve), and then curled up in bed with a cup of chamomile tea and Terry Pratchett. Long about 10:20 I felt sleepy, so I opted to actually go to bed at a humane hour. Maybe I'm getting the hang of this relaxation thing...

Of course, for my troubles I got weird dreams. Somewhere along about 6AM I'd decided to purchase a motorcycle (crotchrocket, really) despite waking-world promises to the contrary, and then decided I needed 20 copies of some sort of leather band/belt/harness, for myself and my friends (I don't know who the 20 were, but the number was very precise in my dream). I read the total cost at $110 for twenty when I paid the bill, but only later discovered that it was actually a $510 splurge - again, very precisely numbered. Not sure what all of that was about, but I did remember to pay my bank card bill this morning.

* Neither ring shop gave us a hassle about two women picking up wedding bands, or the other one picking up matching bands when they knew two of us were married already. Montanari has been incredibly cool the entire time (as always), and Vinca only was snotty to us when [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale and I went in in our "street clothes" to check on the status of the rings, and the owner/manager/gentleman behind the counter wouldn't even get up and check on it for us.

The WDF was working overtime last night.
I had one about aliens doing research on humans, using a form of Lethe (from Heinlein) to make us not remember being used for said research. I knew it had to be something like that because I was falling asleep (in my dream) and getting blank spots in my memory.

This one was actually totally reasonable and rational (well, except for the part where my other thirds let me buy a motorcycle), so I was disoriented when I woke up, and wanted to "go back to the dream" and fix it (i.e. return the crazy impulse buy, I think).

I was a Public Assistance worker for FEMA trying to get World of Warcraft civilians to sign up and get compensation from the war.

Yeeeeeeeeaahhhh. You've *never* been able to do it effectively in the time I've known you. For your sanity, I do hope you are, in fact, learning this one, but forgive me if I'm dubious.

Don't worry, I'm planning on being up half the night tonight to make up for it. :P

He wasn't, you know. He went to sleep before I did.
