triadruid: Apollo and the Raven, c. 480 BC , Pistoxenus Painter (Default)

Hmmm, up since 5, guess it's time to take a walk and greet the sun, since I'm not getting back to sleep this morning... (there's more to it, but that's locked for consultation).

Bastard. If this is what having a personal patron is going to be like, I'm not sure I want Him...

Also and, (mostly unrelated) here's an interest essay: Where did the mythological creatures go?

He's not always this bad. I would bet that he's just getting your attention right now. Normally I don't find him that bad, but then again I've always been a morning person. I think he marked me early in life. Besides, there's something to be said for watching the sun rise. It can be an awe-inspiring sight.
I got your email and should reply after I let it percolate (and have some caffeine). So, it'll be later today. Want me to move it to LJ so we can work on it during the day?

But even more fun, wait until you get more than one personal patron. Thankfully mine tend to compliment and augment each other. If they didn't, I'd probably be a basket case. Also, they are ok with the fact that I don't have a lot of time to devote to personal spirituality at the moment. I sense a waiting for me to go on hiatus so that I can get more up close and personal. That'll be fun, I think.

Yeah, that's fine, I just wanted to run it by you before Tuesday's meeting. I'll see you tonight at Wild Hare so no need to move it to LJ, I don't think.

If he is going to be a patron of mine, I suppose I shouldn't be that surprised. His interests and mine generally coincide a LOT, not to mention that my opinions on 'winning' are probably similar (i.e. do it within the rules, but do it!)

Oh, yay! You found an Apollo icon. I haven't had time to even look, but I'm holding a slot open for him (as it were).

I have two now, actually; the other is set as my default.

A good source of images is http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Apollo - let me know if you want a particular one cropped/texted.

Hmm, very Egyptian, with its lack of perspective. :)

How about this, or do you want the name on it directly?
From: [identity profile] capriciouslass.livejournal.com
That's nice, but I think I'd prefer the name if you don't mind.

English or Greek version, or both?

How 'bout English for those of us who have to stop and figure out what it says the other way?

Of course, if your only response to the proposal in my email is "great, perfect in every way" then you can let me know and I'll send a heads' up to the team for GA. But somehow I doubt it will be *quite* that simple... :P

It never is that simple with me, is it? I like your idea, but I had a couple of thoughts on it that I'm trying to put in coherent form. We'll see if I achieve that by this evening, and we can discuss it then.

Heh, I wasn't thinking you were making it complicated, just that the idea itself was tricky enough to not be good enough the first time out of the gate (probably).

Off to the library...

My sympathy and understanding. Generally there are benefits that at least balance, many time outweigh, the disadvantages of being so closely tied. Then again, if I were being regularly awaked before dawn, I'd have to have some stern conversations about boundaries... *so not a morning person*

Heh, the dawn patrol thing is really the worst part; as I said above, I can see some very reasonable reasons I might be acquiring a patron out of all of this, it's just a little weird to me as I've never had recognized this sensation before...

Wait til you get the *psst, this person really needs to hear something* and thenyou get to try to figure out what the msg is and if you got it right.

Then again, maybe thats just my job... Apollo may not have those sorts of needs of his people the way Aphrodite does.

Heh, there's some of that, but mostly right now he's Playing to Win in the God Auction, so it's mostly "you need to do/hear/get X, and I'll tell you why/let you figure it out in a couple hours/days"

Please tell me you're not the piece of meat being auctioned? If you're on the market in that sense I may make a phone call... ;)

Seriously, what on earth do you mean by God Auction?

*grin* We get that a lot. It's an kemetic idea that we took and ran with as a fundraiser: http://gaiacommunity.org/godauction.shtml
(I'm up for auction, yes, but only in the sense that I'll be portraying/aspecting Apollo. Donations are still welcome!)

It's also a very interesting way of discerning a future direction for the community, by what they are most interested in/supportive of...

So he's moving pieces and you get to do the grunt work, eh? I can appreciate that.

Sounds like an interesting concept. My community here isn't cohesive enough for something like that but the larger pagan community might be. I dunno. Still its a neat idea.
