RockFest 2007?

Haven't been to one of these yet (the lineup usually underwhelms me for an all-day sunfest in June), but this year looks to be highly promising:

featherynscale and I are thinking about it, anybody else in? Tickets are approx. $30 and only available through Ticketmaster, so tack on the "handling fees" they extort. *le sigh* Saturday, June 9th is the date this time around...

That's a helluva lotta rock for $30. What's the catch?

Well, they're short sets, for one (probably only 4-5 songs apiece). Concessions are supposed to be relatively cheap, $5 or less apiece. And it's an outdoor show, so that lowers costs I'm sure... I think but I'm not sure, if RockFest is a sort of circle-the-Midwest touring gig some of these bands get on. There seem to be shows by the same title all over.

It still sounds worth it if you don't mind that much daylight and the likelyhood of being arsehole-to-elbow with that many strangers. A younger me would definitely go. These days? Eh. Aging sucks. Especially when you're not even old.

I know sxypaganmom will be there for sure, already has tickets and all. When I first heard about it, I was exited by the amount of names I had actually heard of on the bill... and on my birthday too. But, well, maybe I'm getting old or something (/sarcasm). I haven't been to a concert in so long, but after spying the way-not-affordable Dylan tickets the other day, I kinda just don't want to go any concert now, not even a whole day of sunny rock.

That's the same day as the KC Highland Games, so count me out. Looks like a pretty awesome line-up, though! Enjoy. Wear sunscreen, and stuff. :)
