(if I can manage 3 more by midnight, that'll be the triple trifecta, right?)

1. Don't hate me, but yesterday I was down to 132# from my high of 150, after being on the South Beach diet for about a month. That's pretty close to where I want to end up (my High School weight was 125, probably a bit low), so some muscle toning will be most of what's left on that front. Yay!

2. Of course, all things in balance: I got a good look at my balding spot yesterday morning with the help of two mirrors, and sheesh, it's...err, "impressive" probably isn't the right word. "Growing", maybe. I'll probably lose another couple of pounds when I cut my hair this summer before Dragon*Con - donating about a foot to Locks of Love, and it helps with a costume I'm working on for D*C. And with the heat of summer, of course. C'est la guerre... maybe I'll shave my head eventually, like that sexy beast [livejournal.com profile] biscuitgod. But this is not that year. I have officially started combing it consciously over that place, though... :/

3. On the gripping hand (possibly literally), I have my first-ever chiropractic appointment for tomorrow afternoon at 5. [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants has had good initial results from a Dr. Duke on Red Bridge, and he's covered by our insurance. Time to find out how fscked up I really am, right? Don't answer that...

Now, time to get some backlogged work done. I'll get to the comments on my previous post sometime tonight, probably.

Heh. Rogaine, yo. :)

Also, I may die of shock if you shave your head. I am having enough trouble with the idea that you'll be losing most of the length this summer. I heartily encourage you to trim to your shoulders before you go really really short.

Yeah, I'm thinking that going to my shoulders is a good first shift between current nigh-unmanageable length. No shaving without warning/family meeting, trust me. :)

Rogaine; meh, my uncle Rod did some of those solutions and it seems to have worked okay for him, but I'm not sure my financial priorities lie that way. I'll know more come fall, I'm sure...

That was my line of thinking way back when Rogaine first came out: "I have better things to do with my money".

Speaking of hair, what little I have left is in need of another mowing ...

I'm in total agreement of the second part of that comment (not that my opinion counts for much in the grand scheme). I haven't seen him in years & even MY brain won't wrap around him with a shaved head. I think the shortest that ever I saw was to his shoulders.

My back today was JUST FINE. (does the happy dance) My neck is still a little borked, but I'm betting that's all the time at the computer.

Dr. Duke is great. Yay health!

Part the third - I <3 my chiropractor. I strongly suspect you'll be easy to adjust given the way you crackled in the days of yore....unless those brick like muscles you usually carry around get in the way.

Something to keep in mind...

If by any chance there's something that doesn't strike you well about this guy be sure & talk to Star about it. If she's anything like a lot of the MT's down here she's done a lot of work in conjunction with chiropractors and is likely to be in a better position to say weather something done was 'iffy' or not. Otherwise, keep in mind that there's a lot that Chiros can do, but it can take multiple sessions/adjustments sometimes to get the desired effects.

To backtrack- I don't know weather or not [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale mentioned to you that I've got a strong start on what promises to be a kickass post-apocalyptic costume for Dragon*Con. I don't suppose any of your pack could be interested in joining in?

I';m not too worried about the chiro, since [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants has been to him several times and he's been very good; he's got a digital device that does the adjustments and measures each time (basically a glorified vibrator/thumper), so it stops exactly when you're back in alignment). Then she went back a few days later to see where her back had tried to revert to.

re: Dragon*Con, catch me on IM sometime and let's talk. I'm pretty sure that Sammael is going to take up all of my available energy for new costumes this year, but if there's something simple that will do postapoc, I'd probably be up for it.

About the IM thing...

I don't see myself being able to IM any time soon. I'm overdoing it for my costume, but then it's what I do. A good friend of mine once said that my motto should be "If something's worth doing, it's worth doing to excess." She's probably not too far from right.

Postapoc always seems easy to me, just a theoretically useful recombination of cheap junk. I'm having fun with it because it's been a good creative outlet for me, and I get to buy power tools. I'd just bet that you & yours can come up with something that's ridiculously simple that still kicks ass.

Also- are you still planning on marching in the parade with the pirates this year?
