Reposted because I'm told there were problems with commenting on it yesterday, due to Public/Private confusion on LJ's part...

Snatched off of [livejournal.com profile] chronarchy's journal because it looked like fun; the idea is to take your Friends list (no communities, of course) and post what you think they look like when typing into their LiveJournal. Then, if you like, feel free to correct/congratulate/hit me in comments, of course...

This may be the first time I've helped start a meme..

[livejournal.com profile] agrnmn is balancing an inquisitive toddler on one arm as he types, while the Dragonling questions everything he's doing, an internet Poker game (no money) runs in the background... and something simmers away on the stove for 5 minutes too long.
[livejournal.com profile] azanthia has perfect poise as she taps the keys of her Mac with laquered nails.. and at least one exhausted lover of indiscriminate gender sleeps in her bed. She had to get up because of a revelation from an earlier conversation, you see.
[livejournal.com profile] breathofgold is curled up like a cat in her chair, typing leisurely on her Powerbook while [livejournal.com profile] iron_clad does something naughty/wonderful to her neck and shoulders, and a dog curls up under her desk.
[livejournal.com profile] casey_rashel is wearing a long t-shirt and her underwear, and has an elfin grin as she regales her friends with stories of some idiot of the world.
[livejournal.com profile] chainwoman types sentences (and does quizzes) when she can between her boss walking up and asking her to do just this one more thing.. she's dressed like an office drone, and counting the hours until she can get those shoes off...
[livejournal.com profile] chaosdruid is pecking away at something off-color and funny as hell that she got and needs to share, but can't tell her teenager (yet) and her son probably wouldn't get the joke...
[livejournal.com profile] chronarchy's office is cluttered with all manner of things he might need soon, including but not limited to a baseball bat and glove (but no ball), two pieces of pagan statuary (possibly the same piece), notes for four different stories/research papers in three piles, and a cat...no, three cats.
[livejournal.com profile] diermuid is covered in sawdust/metal shavings/glue, wearing comfortable pants, and washing the aforementioned detritus out of his throat with an entire 2-liter bottle of Pepsi.
[livejournal.com profile] eponinechakra isn't dressed in soft leather buckskin, but probably would like to be. Instead she's got some obnoxious t-shirt her elders do not approve of on, and a funky pair of cords. I think she has to type from the library though.
[livejournal.com profile] esotericgirl is sneaking on between classes, typing quietly and trying not to laugh out loud at her friends' posts, counting down until the end of the day.
[livejournal.com profile] featherynscale is typing at an alarming rate of speed and volume, bouncing in her chair listening to The Smiths as her latest idea takes shape, and she has to share it with somebody before the next one steamrolls over it. She's briefly interrupted, of course, every time someone tries to pet her on account of the velvet/satin/silk/leather piece of "texturally enhanced" clothing she's got on; life's rough.
[livejournal.com profile] g_w_bush is being written by a bunch of speechwriters in a smoky room (partly because it's a joke journal; partly not).
[livejournal.com profile] hekatatia is typing late at night after coming back from a night of dancing and fun with her husband, still gothed out but her head is a million miles away from the club scene; instead something she saw on the way there made her think of a new grove ritual...
[livejournal.com profile] iron_clad isn't typing anything, as he's too busy showering affection on his wife and/or wrestling with the dogs to post.
[livejournal.com profile] jaiwitchy is posting between trying to find her shoes, find her daughter's shoes, find her car keys so they can leave, and fend off the HNG who is Instant Messaging her..
[livejournal.com profile] jdoryt is writing her post on a laptop under a tree on a farm, for some reason; she took the day off to be outside on account of the good weather.
[livejournal.com profile] kcwitch is posting at 2:00 in the morning because she can't sleep, and the house is finally quiet, and she can relax in her jammies with a cup of cocoa and read up on what's happened with her many friends today...
[livejournal.com profile] kelafein is typing while doing yoga/kata, inexplicably; however he won't remember to actually post his thoughts until the fifth entry, and put them all out there at once.
[livejournal.com profile] kimjerosky has a cup of steaming hot coffee in her hand and is typing from her too-cold office, waiting for her next client to arrive as she worries about her kids, and whether she did the right thing in starting her own business... and then the phone starts ringing.
[livejournal.com profile] kittenpants is ensconced in a fluffy pink cozy blue bathrobe, finishing her tea and reading August Pollak, with a cat on her lap and a graphics program opened in the background... and she's running late for work.
[livejournal.com profile] leiandra is flopped into her chair, tired from a full day's work and changing the oil in her mother's car; in addition to LiveJournal, she's got Yahoo!IM, AOL IM, ICQ, two telnet windows open to talkers, her webcam, and WinAmp going. Maybe she's not so tired after all...
[livejournal.com profile] lysana has only a few minutes, so she's typing standing up, waiting for the bathroom to open up so she can finish getting ready to go out. The house bubbles with activity.
[livejournal.com profile] malvito is cursing not-so-silently as he tries to type with those %#%!(*&) Evil finger rings on... he keeps cracking keys with his talons. His screen is lit with red text on black... muahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
[livejournal.com profile] naiadea has her favorite underwear on (and that's it), typing in this window while a talker scrolls away in the background. She's been idle for several minutes though because one of the cats came up and asked her a question...
[livejournal.com profile] opaljax keeps getting distracted by the movie playing across the room, but she goes back and finishes her comment in a little bit, giggling at her silly friends...
[livejournal.com profile] saffronhare is taking a break from writing for a living by writing for fun, dressed with breathtaking authority despite the fact that she's composing a little ditty about sheep and jam...
[livejournal.com profile] sannion can't be bothered to type right now since his arms are full of a small squirmy bundle of hair and fingers and toes and eyes named Maia...
[livejournal.com profile] zylch is curled up on her armchair, pulled up to the desk, typing away at a truly alarming rate. She's got a term paper open in the background that needs to be done by 9:00am, and three websites of Homeric Greek and contradictory mythologies behind LJ that'll get read by 6:00am...

... Gods, we're a busy lot.

Good Goddess, you mean I'm not the only one up at this Ungoddessly hour?

(And, yeah, the damned talons make it difficult to type accurately ... Thank Sauron I have a decent background in english)

Evil dude, I'm up at this hour every day...I'm the household's designated kick-your-butt-out-of-bed person.

Wait a minute, how did I get to be a morning person???

morning people

Hey! I realize the majority of the world doesn't like the morning, but it can be rather nice to be a morning person.

We may be getting old, but you're getting old first! BWA HA HA!

(Actually, I'm not sure you are a morning person - you're just more of a morning person than [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants or I. Which, when you think about it, isn't all that difficult.)

Change flopped into her chair to flopped on her bed sitting in her underwear and you've pretty much hit it. Sad as that may be... :P

Wow. Someone else has taken up something I started. *wipes away a tear* I feel almost like a real LJ user now.

However, if you're talking about my home office, you're pretty damn close, actually.

There are three cats in that room right now. There are binders upon binders and books upon books detailing the practices of Pagan traditions I have never participated in, including Voodoo, ceremonial magic, Mormonism, Lovecraftian mythos, and love spells (and yes, everything is usually kept around "just in case"). There is one Pagan statue, but it's of a Goddess I don't worship, so I have to give you that one. The baseball bat has found better use as a door stop, and I have no idea where the glove is, but I know it's got a ball in the mitt. I'd grudgingly admit that you got the piles of papers and such correct, except that the three cats have had a field day up there, and it could more accurately be described as "one giant pile o' shit."

I'm afraid you did much better than I *grins*

Wow

Glad I did so well on yours; I have an inherent advantage in that 2/3 of my Friends list is people from Gaia Community that I've seen 'in the wild', and a good chunk of the others are ADFers or Netizens that I've net over the years ([livejournal.com profile] hekatatia, [livejournal.com profile] leiandra, [livejournal.com profile] naiadea, etc.)

So really I only had to stretch on a few (and I won't say which unless they respond).

Thanks! It was a cool idea, and I fully support getting cool things into the meme wild.

Not bad, not bad, although it's a metal folding chair that I curl up in, and you forgot the jammies. Oh, and the term paper is Hellenion BAE right now.

And since I doubt he'll read this, I'll mention that [livejournal.com profile] kelafein is usually online from the library or my place, so he writes things down on his computer as he thinks of them and then posts all at once when he gets online. He does get to curl up in a comfy leather chair when he's typing, though.

I love it!

Your description inspires me to be terrifying and creative. Do you know I even composed a trance chant last night?...in the middle of trance...and then sang it! With a hammer in my hand, no less.

Yes. And I will endeavor not to be offended that you consider my humming "wierd." Now get on the road, Ms. Viably Slackitatious.

it was only weird in that it was just barely loud enough for me to hear over the furnace, so I wasn't sure whether I was hallucinating or not at first.

And I will slack as much as possible between trips to the car. Why not Slackidence?

Wow! You composed that? I guess since I'm not the type that could come up with that sort of thing, I assumed you found it somewhere. I liked it (and didn't even consider it weird).

First off, there is no way I'm doing this meme. I'd be here all week.

Second...

lysana has only a few minutes, so she's typing standing up, waiting for the bathroom to open up so she can finish getting ready to go out. The house bubbles with activity.

You flatter me. Usually, I am either sitting at work tapping on my iBook and malingering to beat the band or parked at home in a quiet moment, using either the same iBook or the house iMac. When I'm home, the place is my cocoon and sanctuary. I get my busyness ya-yas out everywhere else in the world.

*blink* 300 friends?

No wonder you're so good at malingering. ;)

Got me pretty well dead to rights there, though sometimes I forward on things that are uplifting and tend to cause deep thoughts. I do try to tailor my forwards to those who would appreciate them more. The rest of the time I'm IMing and dancing (yes, they do actually work together)
Now, what fun things have I found lately that I can forward on? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

normally that is me but since i've been sick i am actually going to bed at a reasonable time and pretty much staying asleep except when i wake up coughing and i move to the couch so not to wake up mac or the kids while i lay here dying.

Lacquered nails? Mac???

Date: 2003-12-24 06:39 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] azanthia.livejournal.com
Well, here we have the effects of living many miles apart for most of the 7+ years we've known each other.

First: I haven't owned a Mac since college! (much to my girlfriend's disappointment).

Second: I almost NEVER paint my nails. Perhaps a coat of clear, or a french here and there, but perfectly lacquered??!

the other two are close enough, though. Although, to her credit, the only person sharing my bed for the past 14 months is the above mentionted PC-hating girlfriend. And I tire sooner than her ;) And she says "I am certainly NOT of indiscriminate gender!"

Well, I think of all the people on my list, I've known you the longest... and some of those earliest memories are indelibly of you in college, with a Mac, and a full bed. :) And even moreso than me over the years, your companions have been delightfully varied, present bliss notwithstanding (say hello for me, eh?)

I suppose 'lacquered' was the wrong word after all - but 'shellacked' sounded so bourgeoisie.

Nice to see it grabbed your attention, nonetheless - happy holidays!
