Post-apocalyptic...well, no, that might be wrong. It looked more like the Everglades...lush, overgrown, wet. Post-Rapture? Anyway, all the likely local suspects were there, and we were having to find food in the jungle-cum-swamp, so of course, we separate into smaller groups. Pretty soon
niveus_tigris and
capritiouslass were assaulted by a M/F pair of honest-to-godden satyrs, and the group I was with was busy fending off miniature dinosaurs or something. With bow and arrow and pistol and quarterstaff, of course... I got the impression it had been a few years and a lot of the tech was worn out.
After we dealt with most of our little problem, I turn around to see
capritiouslass being carried of in a small boat by the satyrs. As they drifted downstream at their fastest possible rate (not very quick, considering they had an underpowered engine and a highly uncooperative wench to contend with. They weren't very good at this abduction thing, seeing as the whole adventure had already taken like 40 minutes... I don't even think they overpowered
niveus_tigris, just that he couldn't get past them/fight them properly with his wife being used as a hostage/human shield, etc. But their slow "escape" downstream brought them right past us, and even my meager archery skills were enough to be threatening from 4 feet away. *laugh* I believe an exact quote was "I may not have very good aim, but no matter which of you I hit, it's going to be someone you don't want me to", to the male satyr. Luckily I did end up shooting him, in the back with a half-drawn bow, to the worldly depth of about 3".
At which point he pulls a Mr. Tumnus and starts begging and pleading for his life, and for us to help save him. Despite the fact that I think he wanted to eat
capritiouslass (and not in the euphemistic sense), we agreed. There was a broken down hospital further downstream, and we took him there to extract the arrowhead and bind his wound.
Fast forward a bit, and he's healing nicely in a room with white linens, white walls, and an unbroken window... healing well enough, in fact, that he starts to get feisty again. Which results in him and I getting into a stand-up wrestling, ball-squeezing, head-butting match (the unbroken window becomes important here), before
kittenpants advises the satyr that I do, in fact, have a harder head that the satyr does, and that we'll probably both end up falling out of the window. So we stop...
At which point we leave the room to investigate the hospital for further medical supplies, Quark the Ferengi shows up to help the satyr escape, and ... well, at that point, I pretty much woke up.
Errr, huh??
Also, new icon. Hee!

Just out of curiosity...

Date: 2006-07-29 08:03 pm (UTC)Let's see. What did we have for dinner? Cream puffs, lemon pie, and chocolate chip muffins, with spice cake with rum sauce for dessert. Can't imagine nightmares after good, wholesome food like that.
