I think that's related to something...
May. 6th, 2006 08:23 amJust woke up from spending several virtual hours in a Prairie Star District meeting (I think - it was too small to be General Assembly, and Bruce W. was there). We were getting a lot done, which was sort of astonishing, but there were some quirks, like in any dream.
Maybe the pork with garlic sauce at Red Dragon wasn't such a good idea...
- It was being held in a massively sprawling compound which I got the impression was either an old Quaker/Puritan church, or built specifically to resemble one; lots of wood and plaster.
- The documents we were given were not stapled, but fused together in the corner by a sort of ceramic handle that looked like it had been baked in place (not sure how they managed that without scorching the papers).
- John Romita, Jr. was there and was stumping for a new Planned Community specifically for Muslim immigrants (it was a good thing, not a interrment camp or anything), across the street from where he used to live in Iowa City (whih is incidentally across the street from my grandparents house, too). Of course, I don't think there's room over there for 100-150 new ranch houses on cul-de-sacs, but nevermind...the idea was kind of cool.
- And I think we might have been using skateboards or scooters to get around the compound, both inside and outside of buildings.
