This just in (as of 8:45 this morning): fresh-from-the-dryer socks are a thing of beauty and grace.

Seriously; I'm not sure when I went from an exotherm to an endotherm, but lately I've been cold. Cold in my office, cold in the home office, cold when going to bed, cold when getting out of bed. Cold outside is expecially annoying, because it means I've been staying in more and exercising less.

I used to get into bed with my other thirds to warm them up; now it's the other way around, as many times as not!

I'm not sure if it's my metabolism slowing down after 30, my lack of regular exercise, or just some weird alien virus/perceptual shift, but no sir, I don't like it.

Like everything else in our household, internal warmth is conserved. Since I've been on more meds, I've been totally warm all the time. [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants had no surplus of internal warmth, so the adjustment took some of yours. However, fear not, for they have cut my dosage now, and within a few weeks, I should be back to my shivering, languid, disinterested, low-energy self. (Bastards)

I had considered that. This equilibrium thing has its drawbacks...

Or maybe Super Roommate J's body temperature is conspiring against me. Hmmm...

I am continuing to be facinated by your conservation theory. There are times when things occur that I realize that it is your theory in practice.

I'm sure there are dozens of counterexamples that we just don't pick up on, all logical-fallacy-like. But it is a funny thing to keep in the bag of useful explanations for phenomena we don't understand.

Quite true. You only see what you are aware of and all that...

Yeah, that's a thought I ahdn't considered. My self-perception is that I eat plenty of red meat (by worldwide standards), but that may be faulty.

It's been so long since I gave blood, that I forgot that was where I usually found out about that sort of thing...

A few years back, I did a presentation to my local CUUPs chapter (that I no longer attend, sadly, due to some unpleasantness with the lady in charge) about my personal method of energy gathering/general energy work. I led the group through the meditation I use, part of which is extending roots down into the earth. My wordage, and personal understanding of the situation, is that the earth is warm; I was surprised when I asked people for feedback afterwards, there were several who have always thought of the earth (or deep earth, anyway) as cold, and when I got to that part of the meditation, they immediately flashed hot and started sweating. Interesting. I wonder if this (or something similar) might be useful to try in your situation?

(grin) Except that he doesn't believe in meditation. :)

I don't believe in hamster spirits offering me advice, or goddesses sending personally significant omens.

Doesn't stop the fact that they keep trying to do so anyhow, for some strange reason.

She's got it all wrong.

I don't believe in energy work. I don't succeed at meditation. ;)

must be something in the air cuz i am always cold too and i am normally never cold. of course i have lost a substantial amount of weight so that might have something to do with it, but not likely.

Actually, in my case, I've put on a few pounds (around my middle), so you'd think I'd be better insulated... then again, my muscle mass is probably no greater, overall.

in my case it might be because of my sleep schedule or lack thereof.
i live/sleep like a vampire. often times staying out until just before dawn and then sleeping until just before dusk. it's the life of a rock star.
