Stupid question of the day
Feb. 22nd, 2006 09:36 amBecause my friends are just the sort of people to still own revolvers, if anyone I know does:
I'm helping redesign the site logo for MafiaScum.net, from this:
to something more like this:

One of the keys to this redesign is to use a revolver instead of a semiautomatic, to reflect the "Gangster era" mentality of the game. But the stock revolvers I can find are all either profile shots or straight on, except for the one I used for my mockup image above. Having access to someone's actual pistol would allow me to calibrate the photo to exactly the best angle for the composition. Using stock photos is important in any case because there may eventually be merchandise sold through the site, which makes any copyrighted image (even GFDL) untenable. Also being able to take my own shots means there will be good enough resolution to do t-shirts, coffe mugs, etc...whatever.
So if someone has a revolver and would let me take some royalty-free pictures that would be fantastic. If you're too far away and/or would rather take the pictures yourself, that'd be good too. Just let me know; otherwise I may just try the profile shots to see how they work...
