Tristan and Yseult/Iseult/Isolde...
Jan. 14th, 2006 11:39 pmSaw the movie last night; not nearly the worst historical drama I've seen this year (of course, that included both Alexander and Troy, so I may be biased), but there are some stunning "Errr?" moments, even for someone like me who's never read the story/seen the opera. Speaking of which, can anyone recommend a particularly good/bad version to read? Now I'm curious about the Bad Parts Version....
Still, not a bad little film. Tristan's foster brother, who may or may not exist in any other previously attested version of the myth, was deemed Head Hottie, and the Irish are (for once) Right Royal Bastards, and not the shining noble hope of the western world. So that's fun.
Also, James Franco would have made a MUCH better Anakin Skywalker than Hayden C.; I'm just saying.
