Went to go see the movie yesterday, and it was...mixed. I had actually shed all expectations for the film by the time I entered, then it started off with the eyelash/flytrap sequence! And for the next half-hour or so it continued to go very well, very straight (as far as that goes) in line with the Peter Chung TV episodes. After that, at some point, it jumped ship for a traditional action movie ending, which was vastly disappointing. I let myself be suckered in by the shiny and apparently authentic opening acts, but it wasn't maintained (and as [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale keeps reminding me, Trevor Goodchild wasn't nearly creepy enough). Probably more enjoyable if you don't remember verbatim the television series; worth a matinee viewing, at least.

Ah, Marton Czokas. That's one for the gallery, yes he is.

He was okay. But he would never have traded his eye to an alien species in return for sexual fulfillment.

You're right. The aliens would have given *their* eyes instead...

Ahem. Okay. Gonna go home now.

Oh, yeah. Saw him in XXX (as Vin's antagonist, no less), LoTR, Xena, Timeline, and a vast number of other films as Sexy Bastard #1. Really, really going home now.

Yeah, but you can't tell he's Hungarian in this. Okay, maybe you can, but I sure couldn't.

Half Hungarian, on his father's side. He's a New Zealander.
