Ahh; Brian, actually. Started in 10th grade, and the last occurrence was last week. Probably 3/5 times it happens, it's Brian.

It actually happened again at my noon meeting today. One guy in that group always calls me Mike (which is probably my #2 most common mistaken name), but this guy stared at me for a while, and finally came up with..."Steve?"

Which might be my third...or John, but that happened more when I was around by father. My grandmother continually calls me by my stepfather's name, Robert.

Not stopping for stoplights is the only one where I can see your action being likely to Harm Others against their will.

It actually should have read stopsigns, and it's more of a "California stop" (also called a rolling stop), wherein you slow down to 3-5 miles an hour, check for traffic, and keep going before coming to a complete stop.

I don't know if I would go so far as to say that. You also sometimes don't stop at stoplights when you really ought to, and that, that is what produces the unpleasant screaming from your wife and mistress.

As you two hardly ever scream at all (about my driving, anyway) anymore, you'll have to poke me next time I do this. I know I don't always stop on the line/safe-distance behind the car in front of me, but somehow I suspect that's not what you mean... you mean timing the lights so I don't have to stop completely before it switches back to green?

No, I mean when you run through lights that are Very Deep Amber. It doesn't bother me at all when you time the lights to green.

I took "not paying taxes" the same way. Services, including his own job, I might add, are paid through taxes and a certain level of them are generally expected by society. Lots of people could be hurt by financially and otherwise by nonpayment. Perhaps not of one person, but if everyone made the same choice, we'd in a world of hurt.

I just assumed he didn't mean blowing through stop signs into oncoming traffic. :-)

Well, I'm fairly certain that I'm omitting a fairly small portion of my tax burden, as there is the small matter of my 1/12th ownership of some property that derives rent, and not mucking about with itemized deductions.

Last couple of years, it's been a combination of apathy/lack of energy, and lack of money for the tax burden if it does occur. But it does need to get remedied.
