In fact, I am dressed as an Asha'man today, which isn't getting nearly the looks you'd expect (no sword, for one). Our maintenance man thought I was a Union soldier... 0_o. Funnier was the fact that "Burnin' Sky" came on the radio on my way in to work... at least for this costume.

Millard Fillmore...

In his rise from a log cabin to wealth and the White House, Millard Fillmore demonstrated that through methodical industry and some competence an uninspiring man could make the American dream come true.

Born in the Finger Lakes country of New York in 1800, Fillmore as a youth endured the privations of frontier life. He worked on his father's farm, and at 15 was apprenticed to a cloth dresser. He attended one-room schools, and fell in love with the redheaded teacher, Abigail Powers, who later became his wife.

That's fun... *HOW* much older was his wife to him...

Only two years. When they met he was 19, she was 21. According to her biography, they were both students together. I think the sentence in Millard's biography is way misleading. Yes, he attended one room schools, and she was a teacher, but she wasn't his teacher in the one-room schoolhouse.
