This holiday always takes me off guard; I never expect it. Having it off for work just makes it even weirder, since I understand many folks don't. Anyway, it looks like [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants and I are celebrating it by defiling native gravesites and preaching to the heathen masses... in other words, playing Diablo II, possibly as a paladin/necro combo. Anybody who happens to be home and available interested in such silliness, let us know via IM or other suitable venue. Sorry we missed you for lunch, [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale... hope your Thai was tasty!

Went to the Rennaisance Elizabethan Fantasy Faire Experience Shopping Mall this weekend; saw a bunch of Gaians and locals, except of course for the lady wench who got us our comp tickets; thanks [livejournal.com profile] chaosdruid! Resisted the urge to buy anything more exciting than dragon's tears (for Zendo, natch), and the bizarre hematite magnets that everyone was tossing around. Faire just doesn't light me up the way it used to; the fact that we probably got more interactions from street performers, because we knew them/were in garb, makes me despair for what the normal off-the-street patron might have felt, but maybe they didn't have any basis of comparison. Being a race day, there sure were a metric ton of 'em.

I'm at work. :-( Courts are closed as are the banks and yet here I sit. :-(

I realise I don't comment often, let alone on your journal. But I have to ask.

Will there be pumpkinhenge again?

:)

Not this year. There will reportedly be pumpkin-katana baseball again, though. And pirates.

I wonder what my parents would say if they came home to that?

Your mom would think it was cool.

Sadly, I was a bad example, because you were unable to find me until the end of the day, by which time I was tired as all get-out, though I'm never too tired to fool around with the E3. At the beginning of the day it is usually easier to be interactive, especailly this past weekend, when I drowned in the crowd and not the humidity.

It's sad that the Faire experience has become the Mall experience for you; wish that would change, though there would have to be a major shake-up in the ofice staff for that to happen. (There used to be a time before I would express equal hopes for such a shake-up. Long gone.)

Was glad to see you all, though.
