Score One for Eeeeevil: Some Georgia theatergoers have gotten upset about their movie ticket stubs for The Passion of the Christ. Apparently the computer assigned the movie the prefix '666'... no word yet on whether anyone has died from receiving cursed ticket stubs.

Score One for Goooood: Speaking of curses, apparently Gibson's promise to remove the line "His blood be on us and our children" (Caiaphas' supposed curse on the Jewish people for delivering Jesus to his death) has gone unfulfilled...sort of. Several scholars have noticed that the line is still in the film, in Aramaic; only the English subtitle has been deleted. Talk about your subliminal messaging!

Sounds like a wash, except for the $75M that Gibson raked in overall for the movie's first weekend. I suppose it was to be expected, but man...

As [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale puts it, "Sheep are stupid and need to be driven. Goats are stubborn and need to be led."

Which would you rather be?
