So on the positive side, I got to tag along for [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants birthday excursion with her dad to McCormick & Schmitt's, which was *tasty*. [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale's salmon stuffed with brie-and-crab was absolutely divine. The lobster enchiladas were no slouch either... on the other hand, it took up a good chunk of my evening that I'd hoped to get some other things done in. On the negative side, I was up until 3 AM or so, for no really-especially-good-reason (some online moderation work, mostly jacking around and browsing people's profiles)... on the other hand, it's Friday and it's practically tradition with me to go in bleary-eyed on Friday and skate out at the end of the day before I collapse. On the positive side, I got the bank deposit done that's been occupying my side table for quite some time... on the other hand, that meant I got to work late, late, *late* as I was had to stand in line at the bank for forever. On the negative side, this meant slipping in while my boss was at a meeting... on the other hand, no one noticed and I'm ahead of schedule on most of my projects. On the positive side, there's a new D&D game tonight...on the other hand, I haven't finished my character just yet. On the negative side, a lot of people seem torqued up about V-Day... on the other hand, this is an excuse for memery.

Since most of the people listening in here probably don't ascribe to the whole "hallmark holiday" craze that will engulf our nation next Monday, take a moment to take a positive stand against it. Instead of buying something transitory for the person society approves of, say something nice about someone that you wouldn't ordinarily think about on a romantic holiday. If you usually prefer one gender/race/height/eye color in a love & lover, choose someone (personal friend, celebrity, whatever) to rave about that goes against the grain. If you don't have *any* preferences that are exclusionary, you probably don't need this exercise anyway. Pass it on, if you like.

I'll start: Ordinarily I wouldn't think of it, but Liam Neeson really, really impresses me. He's tall, which isn't usually my style; he's male, which is only peripherally my 'type'. His voice, however, sends shivers down my spine..even in something as hokey as Episode I. My favorite piece of his work (to date) is Rob Roy (okay, that's according to type), however I'd really like to see Kinsey at some point. I had forgotten entirely that he was in Excalibur, another guilty pleasure of mine... I love that he's geek enough to have "wanted to be in The Phantom Menace so badly, he didn't even bother reading the script", wanted to be Van Helsing in Bram Stoker's Dracula, and was too short to be Fezzik.
