featherynscale's computer right before I go to bed). Not sure how hard of a downtime it is going to be; signs point either to a bad stick of RAM, which is repairable, or a severely fscked up filesystem, which could be nigh-catastrophic, although I believe I can pull the data off...eventually.
In any case, if I'm not answering your email the next 24-36 hours, that might be why...obviously LJ works from other terminals, and my phone still works (ya know, there were easier methods,leiandra, to get me on the phone...).
On the positive side, I have learned Many New Things™ today. And I have ISOs for a new operating system should it come to that; a new HD and some RAM should get me back up on a menial basis if everything goes south. Those are within my means.
