Thank Godden It's Friday
Nov. 19th, 2004 10:45 amFive reasons to be thankful for today:
1)
featherynscale got up and made biscuits and gravy this morning before I had to go to work.
kittenpants even got up for B&G, and then the two of them promptly went back to sleep under the Comforter of Marshmallow Fluff (+4). MMmmmmmm, biscuits & gravy. I love my family.
2) We set out our first bin of curb-side recycling today. Yes, our area of the city started on Sept. 1st, but welost recycled the coupon, so we had to go get the bin later. Now with 80% less trips to the recycling drop-off (glass, toner, foil, etc isn't picked up curbside).
3) Doing a quick turn around the block this morning before work, I spotted ~45 recycling bins on other people's curbs in our small subdivision, which works out to about 40-50% participation. They were expecting about 25% reduction in trash overall... so that's good, even for our little pseudo-suburb.
4) Next Monday I get to do my one-year performance evaluation. That means I've been an official City employee (non-contract) for just under a year! Thankfully, my slackitude seems to have cleared itself up finally, although I'm still manic as hell this month. Got to sleep about 3-something last night, 2-something the night before that, 1:30 or so the couple of nights before that...
5) Did I mention it's Friday? That means Games Night tonight!
::edit:: 4b) I got to learn geocoding today, which should make some of the carpooling and site stuff for Gaia Community a little easier. I think I instinctively but not explicitly knew that was what MapQuest uses, it's just good to verify. Also, I should remember this site: http://geocoder.us/

Date: 2004-11-19 06:07 pm (UTC)We're an office of 3-4 that handles crime prevention efforts through the entire City. We don't get a whole lot of slack. ;)
