  1. Ask for it like you mean it.. No, really; this works more often than you'd think.
  2. While we're sharing maxims, "early to bed, early to rise" is not so far-fetched a concept either.
  3. Oaths can be a bitch, but they're there for a reason. Don't forget the reason, when the yoke chafes.

Unless the rest of your social group are also morning people. (I'm not, myself, but I understand that this does sometimes happen.)

I Wouldn't Say That, I Have A Few Friends That Are Morning People. I Talk To Them, In The Morning, A Good Deal. Then I Go To Bed.

Must be nice... I remember my nocturnal years. Bloody stupid having-to-get-a-real-job. *grumble grumble*

To quote a wise friend of mine, "you said it, not me..."
It's certainly something that I'm actively working on; see last night's post.

There Are Plenty Of Very Real Night Jobs. Someone Has To Support All That Technology.

I Actually Did Switch To A 'Day-Job' Shift About A Year Back, Because I Thought That It Was A Great New Opportunity. I Quickly Learned That I Hate The Daylight, And Managed to Get My Old Shift/Job Back. If I Can Help It, I Plan To Stay Here Forever!

I suppose there are real night jobs, I just never found them. The last night job I had was as a "computer operator", which meant that I spent 13 hours a night making tape backups, filing said backups, and making *more* tape backups, with neither company nor internet access. This may have been the worst job I ever had. I liked the hours, but the job was awful.

I actually had an opportunity brought to my attention to take a night shift job at a local radio station, but I don't think I can do it. I'd be sleeping on a completely opposite schedule to the rest of the house, which stands a good chance of suck. I'd rather deal with daylight than with never seeing my people.

The Way I Find That Works Best, Since Both My Friends Are Mostly DayWalkers, Is To Go To Work At night, Come Home And Sleep, Then Get Up About The Time Your Friends Get Home From Work. You Spend Just As Much Time With Them, Excluding A Few Moments Of Internet-Talk.

who's chewing on you?

Nobody actually, except myself. I mean, I suspect there are actors out there applauding my decisions, but this was an oath to myself.

The "honesty, even when it hurts", thing. That's a bitch, although it heals over every time.

Oaths, while they may be a bitch, are binding, in my eyes. I live and will die by my word.... Old Irish blood won't let me see it any other way. lol

Nowhere did I say that I was planning on breaking any oaths, léitheoir. I was only remarking on the toll they take, at times.
