LG Optimus V?

It doesn't do flash, which may be a problem, depending.

That's my current phone. I like it a lot. Easy to use, even if the touchscreen keyboard is annoying sometimes. It does have a voice option in which you can tell the phone to do pretty much anything... dictate for you, send an email, call someone. That is, if it understands you... I have had some pretty humorous things come up that it thought I said.

The only annoying things:
1) The battery falls out easily when the phone is dropped. However, this was easily fixed with a handy dandy glove-like cover. Now when I drop the thing (this happens often), it stay in one piece and doesn't clank all over.

2) I don't know who is to blame, but every time I access the SD disk (accessing with a USB on the computer or restarting the phone), I lose any music I downloaded (ringtones). My pictures and my videos remain. I have searched all over and have found the problem on different devices other than this one, though, although Android swears it is a device problem and not a software problem. I know other people with this model of phone, and they do not have that problem. There are 3rd party apps that supposedly fix the problem, but I am hesitant to download 3rd party apps. So, I just spend an extra 5-10 minutes every couple of weeks re-installing my ringtones!

Really, it probably just means that there are some poorly-made websites that will be unusable, here and there. I don't expect to be playing a lot of games on the damned phone, and if I do want to play games, I'm sure there are options for that.

We have the LG Optimus IV (I think). It's been a pretty good phone for us; we use T-mobile. Though I will admit that the keyboard entry is honestly not as easy to use as what I had before, but that's the difference between having any sort of smartphone vs. a plain old cell phone. I find T9 to still be easier than the swype entry.

You can get a T9 on-screen keyboard. I use Smart Keyboard Pro, which has a T9 option (among others). One thing I love about Android is that I can pick whatever keyboard is right for me!

Just got an LG Cosmos Touch. Has been nice except for the one day it acted like it was possessed. The new LG models feel pretty damn solid.

Yeah, we got to hold the dummy model in the store last night. Not bad at all, though I can see the use for having a lightweight case/slipcover.

Rowan's got one of those, I believe, and loves it. Seems quite sturdy and the touch-screen doesn't aggravate her. Have you checked it out at phonescoop.com?

Had not seen phonescoop before, but their review generally gels with what I've seen elsewhere: solid low-end phone, battery sucks unless you turn off the constant-drain items like GPS and WiFi, touchscreen is workable.
