Strawberry Fields was an orphanage in Liverpool that Lennon played near (I believe in the woods behind it) when he was young. The song is about the nostalgia of growing up, not knowing who you are, but growing, even if you don't know who you are, where you will be, and no one else is in your tree, but it's okay and good. The confusion of youth is acceptable and enjoyable for some.
