I should have specified, but they seemed to be talking about headshots in the sense of "closeups of people's heads". Something about echoing the positive space/negative space of shots from the original film, near as I could tell.
And yeah, Blow That Shit Up isn't really the sentiment is seemed to be going for. More of the psychological horror than a pure gore-fest.
