(Second-to-last) update on mom

My aunt Karen called a little while ago. My mother has finally tired of harassing the hospital staff gone back into seizures, and developed bed sores, without any real improvement (never got above a twilight state). So they are transferring her from the Tallahassee hospital that she's been in since they finally released her from Hell Tampa, and moving her to hospice care. She's not uncomfortable, but she probably won't last long into 2006.

I didn't talk to my aunt directly (she called kittenpants at home), but the other big news is that my (oldest) younger sister is getting married this weekend. I have a theory that mom is either checking out to show her disapproval of Crystal's choice (father of her baby, but that's about the most useful thing he's done in the last 4 years), OR she's checking out so she can go attend in spirit. Either would be entirely possible with my mother.

There's no plans to go down and visit again before she passes away; I said my goodbyes when we visited in the fall, and am just glad that she gets to go in the presence of family, rather than in a clinical setting. Just thought some of you would like to know.
