This morning, I opened my email to find *cue dramatic music* spam in my inbox! But only one, and it was a doozy, but not for the reasons they expected it to be, I'm sure.

It was one of these 'random word generator' spams that have become popular lately, with just a bunch of words strung together, e.e. cumming's style, that sometimes form coffee-shop poetry. I don't know if this one did, because I was entranced by the subject line:

re: cohomology cohomology cohomology cohomology cohomology

cohomology?? What the heck is that? So we started crafting definitions for it, instead of actually looking it up. My first guess was, "Is that when your body parts start to look the same?" (since it WAS a porn ad). [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale wins though, with this one:

"No, it's the study of pairs of words that when put together, sound like another word. You know, like come and passion."

I *cannot* engage my brain with my fingers to type today. Nothing simple like [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale's s/o/p problem. In my case, it apparently means that my fingers start typing words nearly unrelated to what my brain sent out, but possibly starting with the same letter.

'connection' instead of 'compassion'. 'heavy' instead of 'heart', that sort of thing... and of course spell-check doesn't catch these 'blenders', I mean 'blunders', so it should be a fun day at work today, since I'm writing up documentation for our office procedures.
