The other thing of note that happened yesterday (besides the UUA Forum) was that [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale and I went to see Stardust. I recommend it, especially if you like the madcap pace & hijinks of The Princess Bride; it's very much in that vein. The actors generally do a good-to-screamingly-funny job; the director is fairly new which explains some pacing issues (and they did a good job of adapting the pacing of the middle of the book to the big screen). The music, however, is derivative and distracting. I'm hoping it was an intentional pastiche/homage/parody, because otherwise somebody got robbed...

I'd go see it again, and I'd probably even buy it.

The Tally Hoe, and I had to leave at six yesterday. Did we do an offering for the forum, yesterday.
On ETs advice though, we are going to see "Stardust"

An offering was done, but I honestly don't know who took it at the end of the day. I'm guessing either B.G. or K.D. though...

Yes, I have it at the house. Can TRHO come over and grab it one day this week? It wasn't much, obviously, since there were only ten people, but still...

Also, if you or she can email us the spreadsheet for budgets, we can look to see what's causing that error.

I just finished the novel today. See, I told [livejournal.com profile] druidevo that we couldn't go see it until I had read the book, because I'm one of Those™. So, I picked it up Saturday from the bookshelf (this is quickly becoming an of-course-we-have-that-Gaiman-book household) and finished it this morning. So now, we can go see it. But I was wondering -- is it something Sir Dynamo can see? The book has a wee bit of violence and one small sex scene, but if it tranlates to film in the vein of The Princess Bride then I am not so worried. Sir Dynamo has loved that one since before he could talk.

The film is rated PG-13, I believe.

The sex scene I believe happens in the opening bit when they're explaining Dustan/Tristan, right? If so, it's implied by a closing door, not shown in any way. All outfits are totally street-legal. There's some genderbending, which I doubt will bother him. There's no realistic blood, as far as I can remember (one guy bleeds blue, apparently), but a fair amount of swordfights and several fairy-tale deaths.

I think he'll be fine.
