Under cover of darkness, cheerfulness found!

So yesterday I was lamenting the dearth of 'good news'. From having to work on an evening I hadn't planned for (and therefore missing the Druid Study Group), to having more projects dumped on my desk at work, to forgetting my silverware for a really tasty lunch, it was shaping up to be pretty poor.

However, after I finally got home, things got much better.

In the first place, the Google Alert I set up over a year and a half ago finally paid off, letting me know that Jeff Dunham was coming to town. Who's Jeff Dunham, you may ask? If you remember seeing him on HBO in the... late 80's? he's the one with Jose Jalapeño (on a steek!) and Peanut the Woozle. More information can be found at http://www.onastick.com if you want to try to jog your memory. He's going to be in Kansas City at a club called "Improv" (no address listed) from July 28th-31st. Anybody up for going with me??

The second thing though was actually writing down what date Episode III of the Star Wars series comes out: May 19th, presumably at midnight since that's a Thursday. Despite the results shown in Episode I & II, I really have high hopes for this one, based on the trailers. It's going to be PG-13, for one thing; much less romance (now with LucasDialogue©!), *many* more lightsabers and an entire army of Wookies (including, according to the credits, Chewbacca himself). What fun. I'm still trying to talk [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale into going, but who else wants to descend upon the theaters like a...well, an army of Wookies that weekend?

My last final is the 17th I think, so I could easily be free for a few days of camping out...

Not that I think I would be worth it at this point in my life, but I would be be perfectly fine with a 12:30 showing of EVERYTHING GOES BAD

I'm willingly giving up about the last 10-15 years of maturity in my glee over these two events... although I'm hoping there's not a need for camping out for this one. Maybe a Saturday showing would be better...

You know of course that you and yours are welcome to drive out and join us... any twin of mine is sure to love the jalapeño on a steek!

Depends on financial considerations, but I'd love to do both.
Hmmm... Do you think that the Improv would give a discount rate for an "Army of Wookies" showing up? Just a thought.

It's worth a try!
