Anybody have any tips on this?

Working on getting myself back into a more 'productive' mindset, but I'll need a little help at first. What I'm looking for, ideally, is a cron-like function for Windows, that would remind me at certain points of the day (morning and evening of workdays, essentially).

Now I'm sure this basic functionality exists. The kicker is, I'd prefer it have a way to detect if the computer is already in use (i.e. I'm sitting at it, typing/clicking), and not out of the house, already asleep/at work, etc. One possibility for this is detection of the screensaver being active, but maybe someone else has a more clever idea than I do of this.

P.S. I apologize now and in advance to anybody who brushes up against me in "focused bastard" mode. Eventually things will settle into a new stable rhythm, but for right now I have to be kind of ruthless with myself, and it may bleed out the edges a bit.

Yeah, except I don't think an email reminder will work. I'd prefer it to be an independent TSR program, although *possibly* a Firefox extension could do it, as I nearly always have that open.

Outlook reminders are pop-ups, not emails. But I'm sure there is a TSR reminder out there -somewhere- 8-)

I Thought Regular 'Scheduled Tasks' In Control Panels Did That, Including Seeing If The PC's Been Used In The Last xx Amount Of time.

Hey, that's neat. I've got Win2K at home, I'll have to see if it works there. Now I'll just haev to write up the script/applet that pops up for me... thanks!

See Lex's comment below for a possible solution (we don't use Lookout, but Lotus).

I've used a similar functionality on my PDA software before to remind me to go lunch before 3pm. Hey look, lunchtime!

Yes, It's In 2k (That's What I'm looking At.) That, with A Batch File, Is How I'm Currently Doing My Backups, And For A While That Was My Alarm Clock, And Trash Day Reminder (After I Missed Two In A Row.)

Check these hacks out.
