They aren't stopping me from playing the game. I'm not abstaining from participation in the system; I'm playing by the rules and saying "Hey, I'm not a member of any of these parties and have no desire to be, so I shouldn't be trying to vote in their primaries."

I suppose I could game the system, but then I would become one of the People I Despise that broke the system in the first place. I prefer to hold by my ideals, because no one else is going to hold them for me.
